Diana Abadi, our Administrator, is a lawyer from Bogotá, Colombia, who received her LL.M. degree in George Mason School of Law in May 2017.
Her passion is working for the Jewish community. She has previous experience as an executive director of a synagogue and is an active volunteer in Limmud, an international Jewish organization dedicated to education. Diana and her wife, an oncologist at FDA, were recently married and live in Bethesda.
She is very excited to be part of this wonderful family and to follow her true career choice in Jewish life.
Director of Congregational Education
Mindy Silverstein, our Director of Congregational Education, has over 25 years of experience in Jewish and Family Life education and communal work. For years, she ran the 6th grade community-wide program, “The Immigrant In Each of Us” the Jewish Teen Institute, a teacher development program for the upper school teacher, and served as Chair of the Greater Washington DC community wide Professional Day.
Mindy attended Boston University and received her Masters degree from George Washington University as well as her certification in Jewish Family Life Education.
She lives in Olney with her husband Ken; and they have three grown children, Jenna, Keri and Adam, who just celebrated his 3 year anniversary with his wife Bri.
Mindy is delighted to be at Bethesda Jewish Congregation and looks forward to being an active participant within the community.
